Abstract

Mental health plays a significant role in ensuring of dynamics and functioning of any community. Those people who have higher life satisfaction, experience deeper affections and feelings and have over ally higher health. The aim of this study was to identify any possible relationship between marital satisfaction and general health in nurses. A multi factorial correlation design was used to convey the study. Accessible sampling was used to select 200 married nurses, aged between 20 and 40 that were working in hospitals of Tehran. We used IMS marital satisfaction questionnaire and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) to evaluate marital satisfaction and general health respectively among nurses. The data were analysed using Pearson correlation test, regression analysis and variance analysis. Results showed a positive significant correlation between marital satisfaction and general health (p0.05). Since the correlation between marital satisfaction and general health was positive, resolving marital problems and consequently increasing marital satisfaction can increase the level of general health which may increase the level of health in family and society.

Abstract

The building projects management is developed by ever increasing growth of construction all over the world. In this project the monitoring management evaluation and the concrete retrofitting from project management perspective are considered because the growth of execution for reinforced concrete structures and their rate of vulnerability as result of different events and on the other hand lack of manager’s acquaintance of monitoring concepts ant evaluation method and retrofitting approaches. One of the important aims of monitoring management is the creation of methods for evaluation and monitoring that the best conditions will be considered with best concepts of concrete retrofitting in practice. Furthermore the demolition development can be prevented by the accomplishment of review forms and frequent investigations and the increase of efficient lifetime of concrete structures is also created by them.

Image result for Pathogens in Duck and Quail MeatballsHaslia, F., Adzitey, F., Huda, N, and Ali, G.R.R.

J. Life Sci. Biomed., 5(2): 48-52, 2015.; pii:S225199391500011-5

Abstract

The effect of temperatures (pre-heating and heating) on the growth and survival of pathogens in duck and quail meatballs were investigated. The meatballs were inoculated with pure cultures of Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella species, Escherichia coli, Bacillus cereus and Staphylococcus aureus containing an average cell concentration of ~106 cfu/ml. Meatball samples were analyzed at 5 min intervals for 40 min, during two steps of cooking; pre-heating at 45 oC for 20 min and heating at 90 oC for further 20 min. Microbial load of the raw minced duck and quail meats, pre-heated and heated meatballs differed significantly (P < 0.05) from each other. Pre-heating at 45 oC for 20 min was not lethal to the pathogens examined. Heating at 90 oC for 20 min was enough to deactivate all pathogens in the duck and quail meatballs. This study suggests that measures such as hygienic precautions during preparation of meatball and heating at a temperature of ≥ 90 oC for 20 min or more will control microbial growth and provide wholesome and safe duck and quail meatballs for consumption.

J. Life Sci. Biomed., 5(2): 53-59, 2015.; pii:S225199391500012-5

Abstract

This study aims to Obtain a pure extract of Sargassum filipendula, fucoxanthin, determine the effect of concentration fucoxanthin against HeLa cells and determine the effect of concentration fucoxanthin against cancer cell lymphocytes. The benefit of this research is to find out that fucoxanthin can be used as an anti-cancer treatment. The study was conducted in September 2013 at the Laboratory of Fishery Product Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science and Medical Biomedical Laboratories, University of Brawijaya, Malang. Sampling brown seaweed (Sargassum filipendula) of the District Rural Padike Talango Sumenep Madura. Extracted isolated by column chromatography using silica gel stationary phase and mobile phase hexane : ethyl acetate (6:4, v/v) ± 100 ml, then identified by TLC using the stationary phase a silica gel F - 254 HPLC with ODS stationary phase (C-18) 5 ml with a mobile phase of methanol, acetone and ammonium acetate (1M) (80:10:10, v/v) and injected a flow rate of 1.0 ml / min pigment solution of 20 mL compared with the standard of Japan. Research results indicate that, spectra maximum wavelength of 450 nm and 446 nm with a minimum of acetone solvent. HPLC has the same retention time = 10.12 standard, while Sargassum filipendula = 10.11. The best concentrations for lethal Hela cells at 100 ppm was 4.717% which means that fucoxanthin effect against HeLa cells have the potential fucoxanthin that can induce cell apoptosis that occurs in HeLa cells, it is possible because of the anti- carcinogenic fucoxanthin has structure unique. While the cell lymphocytes in the dosage of 100 ppm were dead at 9.543 %, the effect of the toxicity of a substance can be observed from how many dead lymphocytes when compared with the state charity by observing level of lymphocyte proliferation.
